Delrin Thumbwheels M8X 1.25

Tecline Delrin M8 Thumbwheels are high-quality knob nuts designed for attaching the wing (BCD) and backplate to twinsets or single tanks. They are the standard accessory for divers seeking a reliable, ergonomic, and durable fastening system.

Technical and Construction Features:

• Material (Body): Made of Delrin (POM), a high-performance engineering polymer. It is extremely resistant to impact, abrasion, and does not corrode in saltwater, ensuring superior durability compared to common plastic versions.
• Threaded Insert: An internal stainless steel insert is fused into the Delrin body to ensure a robust thread that won't strip under load.
• Thread: Standard M8 x 1.25, compatible with almost all threaded rods (bolts) of twinset bands and single tank adapters (STAs) on the market.
• Ergonomic Design: The circular shape with a knurled (or grooved) edge is designed to provide a secure grip even with wet hands or when wearing thick dry and neoprene gloves.

Advantages in Underwater Use:

• Equipment Protection: Unlike metal wing nuts, the rounded profile of Delrin drastically reduces the risk of piercing or abrading the BCD wing during assembly or transport.
• Ease of Tightening: They allow you to screw and unscrew the nuts manually without the need for wrenches or tools, facilitating equipment assembly operations on the boat or at the dock.
• Safety (Anti-Tangle): The compact design, free of sharp protrusions (typical of "wings" on wing nuts), minimizes the risk of snagging lines or nets.
• Mechanical Resistance: Delrin offers excellent galvanic isolation, preventing the nut from permanently "locking" onto the threaded rod due to oxidation between different metals.
