DIN cap for aluminum tap

Blind Plug for DIN G5/8 Valve – Aluminum | Tecline

The Tecline blind plug is a precision component designed for hermetically sealing cylinder valves with a DIN G5/8 connection. Unlike simple dust caps, this model is structured to handle pressure, making it an essential accessory for manifold cylinder configurations, sidemount systems, or for the safe transport of charged cylinders.

Key Features and Materials

• Anodized Aluminum Construction: Made from high-quality aluminum, this plug offers an excellent ratio of mechanical strength to lightness. The surface anodization provides superior protection against oxidation and wear caused by the saline environment.
• Hermetic Seal: Designed to completely seal the valve outlet. Although its primary function is to protect the threads and the delivery, the metallic structure allows for superior structural resistance compared to plastic versions.
• Ergonomic Design: The outer surface features deep knurling that ensures a firm and secure grip, allowing the plug to be screwed on and off with extreme ease even when wearing diving gloves or with wet hands.

Common Applications

• Transport and Storage: Fully protects the internal thread of the valve (DIN G5/8) from impacts, debris, dust, and moisture during transport by boat or car.
• Technical Configurations: Used to close a valve outlet in specific configurations where immediate connection of a first stage is not required, keeping the system clean and protected.
• Maintenance: Ideal for preserving the integrity of the valve's sealing surface and O-ring when the cylinder is stored for long periods.

Why choose the aluminum version?

The Tecline aluminum plug represents a step up from plastic or Delrin plugs for those seeking maximum durability over time. It is virtually indestructible and offers physical protection against impacts that could irreparably damage the valve threads, a critical detail for those who frequently travel with their equipment.
