This robust metallic component, visible in the image, forms the sealing and structural tightening element of the first stage. Its primary function is to seal and precisely lock the sensitive internal components of the hydrostatic chamber into position.
Component Details:
-
Precision External and Internal Threading: It features high-strength external threading designed to screw directly into the main body of the first stage, compressing the transmission diaphragm and its friction washer. Inside the central cavity, a second fine thread is visible, intended to accommodate the intermediate pressure (IP) adjustment screw and the main spring.
-
Hydrostatic Compensation Hole (Flow Hole): A through radial hole is clearly visible on the upper part of the collar. This hole allows surrounding water to enter the regulator's wet chamber to faithfully transmit ambient pressure to the internal diaphragm, ensuring automatic intermediate pressure balancing during descent.
-
Premium Material: Made from marine brass machined on a CNC lathe and subjected to heavy, mirror-polished chrome plating. This treatment ensures excellent saltwater corrosion resistance and prevents thread galling.
Notes for Service and Maintenance:
This component requires the use of specific pin wrenches or official Tecline tools inserted into the compensation hole to be unscrewed and tightened to the correct torque sequence. During periodic overhaul, the threads and the internal seat must be thoroughly cleaned of any scale or oxide deposits before reassembly.
