Hogarthian Octopus Set – 1st Stage R4 + 2nd Stage TEC2 + Pressure Gauge

Advanced DIR / Hogarthian style technical configuration for single tank. Includes R4 TEC first stage with dry chamber, two latest generation TEC2 second stages with DFS technology, 1.93 m long hose, compact pressure gauge with short hose, stainless steel single-gate snap hooks and carry bag. Choose your hoses directly from the dropdown menu.

The Tecline R4 TEC2 SEMI TEC + SPG Regulator Set, available on DIR-STORE, is the ultimate combination for advanced recreational and technical divers who want to adopt the rigorous geometry of the Hogarthian (DIR) system while taking advantage of the superior performance of the latest generation second stages. This package optimizes safety and hydrodynamics by eliminating the classic short hose configuration: the primary regulator is mounted on a 1.93 m long hose for immediate donation, while the backup second stage is kept readily accessible around the neck via an elastic bungee. Based on the proven R4 TEC balanced diaphragm first stage, it guarantees exceptionally smooth breathing and total thermal insulation even in ice dives.

Technical Features:

• R4 TEC First Stage (Balanced Diaphragm and Dry Chamber): Constructed from solid chrome-plated marine brass, the R4 TEC utilizes a proven balanced diaphragm mechanism assisted by a sealed dry chamber. This architecture hermetically isolates the internal moving components from the external environment, eliminating the risk of freezing (free-flow) in cold water and the accumulation of sediment or sand. It features a robust tightening ring (DIN 300 bar connection).
• Dual TEC2 Second Stage (DFS Technology and Elite Ergonomics): Compared to the previous series, the latest generation TEC2 second stages integrate the innovative DFS (Direct Flow System) direct flow architecture. This design optimizes internal airflow to minimize breathing effort (WOB) at any depth. The cover is shielded by a solid anti-shock stainless steel ring, and the internal metal parts are protected by an anti-friction Teflon coating.
• Flow Control and Adjustments: Both second stages are pneumatically balanced and feature a side knob for micrometrically adjusting the initial inspiratory effort, as well as a lever for managing the Venturi effect, essential for preventing free-flow when the backup second stage is positioned around the neck via the bungee.
• Hogarthian Layout and Proflex Hoses: The configuration follows DIR principles. The primary regulator is mounted on the 1.93 m Proflex long hose (which passes under the right arm and behind the neck), while the backup regulator on the neck uses the 0.61 m Proflex short hose and is supported by the elastic bungee. Special Proflex hoses ensure superior flexibility and lightness compared to standard rubber hoses.
• Technical SPG 52 mm Pressure Gauge: The kit includes a professional analog pressure gauge with a robust 52 mm metal casing and a highly legible dial. It is paired with a short 0.60 m black high-pressure (HP) hose, ideal for attachment to the left D-ring of the harness using one of the included snap hooks.
• Included Technical Accessories: The set comes ready to use with 2 x 88 mm single-gate stainless steel marine grade snap hooks (for attaching the pressure gauge and primary second stage) and an elastic bungee for the backup regulator.

Customization: On DIR-STORE you can configure the set according to your precise diving preferences. Select the type (Rubber or Proflex/Miflex) and the exact measurements of all hoses directly from the dropdown menu before adding the product to your cart!
