The special ergonomic design ensures a simple and constant straight cut, even with the toughest and most difficult ropes and materials to cut, especially those of a certain diameter. EezyCut cuts 8mm diameter ropes with extreme ease, multiple times, and can easily cut larger thicknesses. It cuts polyester, nylon, cordura, natural rope, harness webbing, bungee cord, and every other type of rope in a fraction of a second. It can even cut ropes of larger diameter without any effort. Its shape cannot harm the diver or the equipment.
Also very useful outside the underwater environment, in fact, it is also used by many firefighters, river and road rescue teams, and last but not least, emergency medical services (118). It is the best alternative to a diving knife.
The special blades of EezyCut Trilobite are made with a special "marinized" stainless steel designed for saltwater diving. The diving knives available on the market are made with AISI 420 stainless steel, the same used for table cutlery. This type of steel has good anti-corrosive properties, but unfortunately, it does not maintain its sharp edge over time. Other very expensive titanium knives cannot be as sharp as stainless steel. The special stainless steel chosen for EezyCut Trilobite is called "440a" and its special characteristic is that it keeps the cutting blade extremely sharp even after numerous uses. "440a" steel still maintains good anti-corrosive properties. The blades can still be replaced when they start to lose their cutting ability or when they begin to corrode.
We still recommend washing the knife in fresh water after every dive, just like any other diving knife. If you use stainless steel knives in saltwater, remember to apply a light layer of silicone grease before each dive.
