CO-Catalyst (Carbon Monoxide Catalyst) - 1 Lt

The original Coltri CO-Catalyst is an advanced filtering material developed to neutralize the presence of carbon monoxide ($CO$) in compressed air. Essential in contexts where the air drawn by the compressor could be contaminated by exhaust gases or incomplete combustion, this compound ensures the maximum safety of the delivered air.

Operating Principle

The CO-Catalyst is composed of a highly selected mixture of copper and manganese oxides that acts through a reactive catalytic process:

• Cold Catalytic Conversion: When exposed to oxygen present in the air flow at ambient temperature, it converts dangerous carbon monoxide (CO) into carbon dioxide (CO2), a significantly less toxic gas that is tolerable in standard concentrations.
• Continuous Action: As a catalyst, the reaction occurs efficiently and immediately without altering the other noble components of the air.

Main Features

• Maximum Protection: Eliminates one of the most severe risks associated with refilling compressed air for respiratory use (diving, firefighting, rescue).
• Compatibility: Designed to be inserted into dedicated cartridges and filter bodies from the Coltri purification line.
• High Efficiency: Specifically formulated to work in combination with traditional dehydration systems (molecular sieve) and oil filtration (activated carbon).

Importance of Maintenance and Usage Notes

1. Moisture Sensitivity: The CO catalyst drastically reduces its effectiveness in the presence of high humidity levels. For this reason, in filter bodies, it must always be placed downstream of the molecular sieve desiccant.
2. Operator Safety: The use of the CO-Catalyst is recommended in all refilling centers where the compressor operates near internal combustion engines, vehicular traffic, or other combustion sources.
