Coltri original activated carbon is a filter element of fundamental importance for purifying high-pressure compressed air. Supplied in a practical 1-liter sealed tin, this material ensures the complete elimination of oil vapors, odors, and gaseous residues, making the air suitable for breathing.
Operating Principle
Composed predominantly of amorphous carbon, activated carbon stands out for its extremely porous structure:
-
High Specific Area: Its extensive internal surface allows it to capture and retain molecules of organic substances and contaminants through a process of molecular adsorption.
-
Odor and Vapor Removal: It highly effectively retains traces of atomized oil that may escape mechanical separators, eliminating any unpleasant taste or odor from the treated air.
Main Features
-
Airtight Packaging: The 1-liter metal tin preserves the maximum adsorption capacity of the activated carbon, protecting it from premature exposure to ambient air.
-
Compatibility: Designed for filling and regenerating rechargeable cartridges and filter bodies in the final purification circuit of Coltri compressors.
-
Air Purity: Essential for ensuring that compressed air meets the strict quality standards required for underwater activities and fire-fighting/emergency use.
Tips for Use and Storage
-
Filling Speed: Open the tin and refill the cartridge as quickly as possible to prevent the carbon from starting to adsorb humidity and contaminants from the external environment.
-
Storage: Carefully reseal the container if the tin is not fully used.
-
Combined Action: In rechargeable filters, the use of activated carbon must be combined with a molecular sieve to ensure simultaneous dehumidification and air purification.
